    Were Back!

Well, not exactly but we’re close. We got the computer back on Monday but I’ve been busy restoring everything for the past several nights. At least I have enough to keep me dangerous. We’re still deciding on the pictures for the birth announcement but in the mean time, here’s a picture of Elliott whom I’m sure many of you haven’t seen for some time.

    Sorry for the Technical Difficulties…

    Hi Everyone!

Our main computer is on the fritz and is now at the Apple Store having its logic board replaced. So much for finishing taxes this weekend. I’m writing this post on our old iMac but it’s a little bit slow and its location in the house makes it very tough to do any work. As a result, posts may be few and far between until we get the laptop back which will be 5 to 7 calendar days. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will be sooner.

Holden had his first bath tonight and it was a living nightmare for him. Pictures are forthcoming.

    Congrats to my Cousin!

Anna Enerio gave birth to a 7 lb. 10 oz. girl this past Sunday at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto. Isabella Mae was born at approximately 11:08 and, amazingly, was three weeks early. We saw them at the hospital a few hours after the birth and Anna was in great spirits. Papa Anthony, on the other hand, looked like I did at 3:00 a.m. one week earlier. Congrats guys!

In case you guys are wondering why I haven’t posted any pictures as of late. Well, Amy has some pictures picked out for the announcement and has placed a moratorium on any new pictures just in case I post one she intends to use. Sorry guys! I’ll keep you posted.

Video: Holden Gets Ready to Come Home

Sorry for the bad quality. I’m not sure why YouTube does it with my videos when I see others that are much better. I’ll keep experimenting but in the meantime enjoy the 5 minute video!

Holden did well sleeping last night. As a precaution, though, I kept on eye an him while Amy got some well-deserved, undisturbed sleep.

    Day 1

As expected, the first night was fairly rough. I was relegated to the couch as Amy slept with Holden on the bed. Holden kept waking up and I was rather uncomfortable sleeping on the bed. That’s really about it. We are officially a family of four. A big thanks to everyone who stopped by, called, or emailed us the past few days!

It’s Not Always Easy the Second Time Around

So Holden’s homecoming did not come and go without some hiccups. First, putting him in his car seat turned out to be quite an ordeal. His car seat comes with two pads on the chest straps that were meant to act as a cushion. But for his size, the nurse recommended that we remove them in order to place the buckles higher on his chest. I promptly did as he suggested, but I ended up twisting the straps in the process. We fumbled around with it some more but In the end, the third time was the charm and we got him in there nice and secure.

After arriving home, he had a blow out in his diaper which took us by surpise. Diapers and wipes were still packed in bags and there was a mad scramble to get everything so he didn’t have to have his bare bottom exposed too long. Definitely a comedy of errors today. Bed time tonight, though, will be the real test and it is one that I am not looking forward to.

I have more pictures up at Kodak Gallery if you want to take a look.

    The answer to yesterdays post:
The top picture is Elliott. The bottom is Holden

    Holden Oliver Aspiras

Okay everyone, let’s cut to the chase. Here are the facts:

7 lbs 4 oz. and 20 inches long. Born at 8:46 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 25th at the Community Hospital of Los Gatos.

I won’t bore you too much with the details but shortly after I posted to my blog, Amy came upstairs to say we might have to head to the hospital. Sure enough, we were out the door by 1:30 a.m. and just over 7 hours later he was here. I want to give a big thanks to the Corona’s: Melanie for playing chauffeur to Elliott and Amy’s mom and for being our videographer/photographer and to Matt for releasing Melanie to us while suffering through a serious hangover.

That’s it. I’m pretty exhausted now with sporadic sleep, driving back and forth from the hospital, and getting the house ready for Holden’s imminent arrival. I’ll get more pictures up from his homecoming. Oh by way, it case you guys are wondering, Holden came from Holden Caulfield in Catcher in the Rye.

Here are some pictures from his birth (copy and paste):

Can you guess which is which? Send me an email or post a comment (and try not to look at the link above for hints). The answer will be in the next post.

    Stay Tuned…..

Well…it’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted to my blog (which I’ll touch upon later) but with the impending birth of my second child, I think now is a good time to jump start my blog by providing everyone with an update on #2.

And the update is….nothing. Amy did feel some contractions this morning but the strength and timing of the contractions were nothing to worry about. Amy was rather tired today and pretty much spent most of the day (at least twice as long as Elliott) napping. Right now, it’s approximately 9:30 in the evening Pacific and it looks like we’ll go through the night with everything status quo. But given the contractions this morning and the amount of kicking the baby did last week, my gut tells me it will be soon. Anyway, Amy has found the couch to be the most comfortable and will most likely sleep there tonight and, in fact, is already down for the count as I write this post.

As for my blog, “jump start” is probably not the description. It’s actually more in need of a crash cart as it has laid in a death-like state for at least the past ten months. For those of you that aren’t loyal readers of my blog which, most likely, are ALL of you, I had written a grand total of four posts last year. One at the beginning of the year to wish everyone a happy new year with the rest dedicated to our impending move to the new house in Gilroy (“So we we signed escrow papers today and boy are my arms tired”). Yes, I know, very exciting indeed. Which is why I’ve completely wiped out my blog and decided to start anew in 2007. Now for the irony, I have nothing else to write tonight. That being said, I bid everyone adieu.
