The family’s beginning started in San Diego when Jay and Amy met while working at HSBC (formerly Household) Automotive Finance in 2001. She was in Marketing while he slaved away in Risk Management. They were married in October 2004 and the couple welcomed their first child, Elliott in May 2005. Their next move was to the San Jose area where Jay obtained a position for one of the major internet companies while Amy stayed at home to look after Elliott, and their two dogs, Riggs and Rascal. In February 2007, the family welcomed their second child, Holden, a son. Nearly seven months later, the family would pack up their belongings again and head back south to the Los Angeles area where Jay accepted a new opportunity with a finance software maker. This blog is about the couple’s experiences and how they navigate through tough economical and social times to raise their family.
